Each family law matter is unique - be it a divorce law or custody law matter for example. Each person has their own concerns.

Whether you are in a marriage, de facto, or same sex relationship, divorce can trigger disputes involving a number of personal and financial issues concerning family law. We take the time to work with you to achieve your desired outcome.

Depending on your wishes, we can endeavour to resolve the family law matter outside the court process or, if necessary, use our litigation expertise to obtain the best result for you in court.

Our approach is to listen to you and learn about your personal circumstances. We then discuss with you the possible ways forward and the pros and cons of each alternative. This approach includes:

outlining your particular legal rights regarding child custody law, property and maintenance;
explaining the process of the different stages of court proceeding that you may be involved in;
advising you of the possibility of resolving or narrowing the issues in dispute by using services such as counselling, mediation and conciliation;
advice on whether your matter is appropriate for a 'divorce without courts' process, with the aim to resolve all issues in dispute without the need to go to court;
checking any agreement you have made and tell you how it can be changed or enforced; and
negotiating an agreement in relation to financial or parenting matters for you.
